Cherry Coffee Table

This was my first big project completed at my home shop (garage)!

This coffee table was constructed with 4/4 cherry wood. The wood cost me $150 total.

Table top:
The table top was a little difficult to get glued together as I do not have a Jointer. I used a tablesaw jig to get the boards as parallel as possible. I originally had the top edges square but this hurt when putting your feet up on it. :) So I decided to give it a decorative look with a router bit which rounded off the edges as well. I also probably used way too many pocket hole screws in this construction. :)

I used a band-saw to shape the legs as well as a belt sander to soften the curves and a round-over router bit on the outside edges.

I decided to do one big drawer with sliders. I dovetailed the drawer using a dovetail jig. This was a bit tricky to get the drawer to remain the perfect width with the amount of possible error in the dovetail jig. But it ended up fitting perfectly.

Finished with 4 coats of Arm-R-Seal semi gloss.

This is a beautiful table and you did a great job on it. Looks like you have the cherry blended nicely all around. I like the one big drawer and the legs match too. Great job.
