Here is the completed drafting desk project. It was a fun project to make. I wanted a clean desk to write on but still wanted some elegance and think the end result was what I wanted. The legs are slightly tapperd and curved, there are a lot of way I could have went about this but I had just purchased a new hand pane and decided that it would be a fun challenge to shape the leg all by hand.
As a side note on the picture of my daughter. After I finished taking the pictures of the desk I notices she kept sitting beside saying something, she is only two so a little hard to understand at times… I finally reallized it was take my picture too daddy, she was posing just like daddy… so here she is.

Looks like a great little piece of work that fits like a glove in that space. I bet it would’ve taken you forever to find something just the right size if you’d have gone shopping for a desk to fit in that space. Yet another reason to make it yourself.
I like how the top floats above the legs.
Are you going to build a matching or complimentary chair to go with this table?

Jonathan yes I do plan on building a chair to match. I already have the two front legs complete but am still working on the look for the back. The two front legs will match the desk with the floating legs and I want to make sure I carry this look to back.
Thanks Jim, she is a cutie….but wild as can be!
Thanks for all the comments.

Excellent. Looking forward to seeing the set together once the chair is completed.
