This is a medal display cabinet that I built for my next door neighbor’s son. It was to display all the medals he accumulated during his high school sporting career. I made the whole thing from some select pine. There is a small V groove cut in all the shelves for the medals to rest in. I did the design on the glass with vinyl and etching cream. I turned the knob on my lathe. The screw that mounts the knob does double duty. It is attracted to the magnet mounted in the frame and holds the door shut. The back is a piece of 1/4” hardboard covered in black felt. I finished it with golden pecan stain and several coats of poly.

That is really beautiful Derek, I especially love the etching.
Great job mate.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.
