Started in 2015, completed today. I started this, got it cut out, did lots of sanding and them put it in a cardboard box and set it on the “Unfinished” shelf. Last week a friend from another forum and his wife came to visit. He brought me a box of nice veneers. Some were Mahogany, just perfect for lining the “Five Dragon Box”. Last weekend I glued the box together, today I lined it with the veneer (thanks so much Dick). The box is approximately 17”L x 6”W x 7”T. The pattern came from “” a place of beautiful patterns and great friendly service.

Man, that was a lot of blade removals. Nice work on the box.
Only those of us that use scrollsaws, realize how much work that really is.

Paul, That is absolutely gorgeous.
I haven’t used my Scroll saw very much, but I can appreciate the work That has gone into this piece.
Great job Buddy,

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Wow! I’m thinking “Top Three of the Year.”

Did you create your own fret work? If not, would you share your source?

I LOVE IT! I have always had a special affinity for dragons (even before I went to a highschool with a dragon as mascot). I might have to buy a scroll saw and learn to use it – this would make a great fundraiser for our reunions.

Thanks for posting.

Wonderful job of scrolling. I just cut two serving trays built the same way except no top. I love doing the cutting and even the sanding doesn’t bother me much, but I sure hate drilling all those holes. Thanks for sharing

That’s an heirloom-quality piece. Generations from now, someone will still be admiring its craftsmanship.
