This was my second ww project of all my time. I didn’t know how to go about it and ended up routing all the joints and it took forever. It is pretty sturdy. I think I could make this now in a couple of hours vs the 4 weeks it took me the first time.
It is 4×4 cedar posts. I had more of these 4×4s but got rid of them because cedar beetles were inside and started coming out of the posts inside my house.
The cedar took about a year and lost its color. I loved they way the shop smelled with all that cedar in it.

Chelios;
Nice bench! Learning methods to save time is part of fun in the workshop! How did you finish the cedar? This would be a great outdoor bench for plants too.
Thanks for sharing your project.
Good Luck!

Thanks Rick! The plants take well to it. It has 2 coats of poly only and it is always in the sun.

Looks great. Yeah, I know what you mean: after finishing a project, I learn all the pitfalls and figure I can do it way quicker the second time. The problem is, I rarely do a project again. I always want to just move on to something new!
