Hi to all you LumberJocks, Well here is the story, Melinda is ready , I am ready and the kayak is ready. Now lets face it carpet is not going to cut it, BUT living here in Reno can be a chalenge ….It is going to SNOW tonight… Maybe next week we will warm up a bit. We have here in town, well really in Sparks, our neighboring town, a 65 acre body of water that will be just perfect for her maiden voyage. Nice sandy and grass beaches with easy access. Let you all know later if she floats, wait a minute she is make out of wood, of course she will float. Take care everyone. Robert

Hello to all you LumberJocks, Well the kayak is done, not launched yet as the weather here in Reno still has not co-operated. Last weekend I tackled the job of building a travel cover for the kayak. I happened across a bunch of really great canvas at a garage sale 2 weeks ago. Melinda saw it and thought it would be really good as a cover. Such a deal we got. There were 8 rolls each 11feet long by 36 inches wide. 29and 1/3 yards for $10.00 talk about a bargin. So I do not have a picture yet but sometime this week I’ll take some and post. Till then everyone take care. Robert

Hello to all you LumberJocks, here are 2 pictures of the travel cover for the kayak. It turned out OK but more work than I thought. I did auto upholstry during the last 2 years of high school so this wasn’t something that I dreaded making but I have forgotten some of the tricks we used to force material to do what we wanted. Ah well it got done. Looking forward to getting her on the water soon, it has to warm up some for me tho, I am not a cold weather guy, like it warm/hot. Take care all,,,, Robert Oops I forgot,, the pictures will be on the project page,

beautiful; must have been a huge amount of work but wow, what a project! You’ll be so satisfied when you finally get to launch it.
