Project Information

I made this as a wedding present for my good friends. I used a hardboard template to flush-trim the pig shape after I rough-cut it on the bandsaw. The pig's tail can be used to hang the board on a hook for storage or display. I regret adding the eye…it's pretty but in hindsight it looked better without it. If anyone is interested in the pig template I designed I uploaded it here.

Details
Size: 11" x 17" x 1.25" thick
Wood: Hard maple and purpleheart
Other Materials: Abalone shell for the pig's eye
Finish: Paraffin wax and mineral oil mix

Great board. Who says a cutting board has to be square? Nice design and build.

Keep it up.

Nice work here. I'm sure they appreciated your handmade work, even with the eye.

I probably would've passed on the eye, but now you'll know for next time.

A very user-friendly size, without being cumbersome.
