My 13 year old and I got our first lathe this week. He made the pen and letter opener on the left using bocote as a mother’s day gift. I already sent out my mother’s day gift, so I made the birdseye maple pen and pencil for myself.

Tony, thanks for sharing! What a joy to be in the shop with your son! Some fine looking lathing work there. I guess that you already know that you are officially hooked on pens. Sounds like your son needs to have his own site here in Lumber Jocks!
