My son graduates high school next week and I made this display as a graduation gift for him. He played ball for this school for three years and was team captain and MVP this year. The ball is an actual game ball from this season and it will be signed by his whole team.

The case is quarter sawn white oak with walnut splines in the miter joints. Joinery consists of miters, dowels, and stopped dados. I etched his jersey number, career points, and the years he played into the glass. This was my first time doing splines and I made a spline jig as well as a miter sled through the course of this project. Making a cube was a bit of a challenge! Hopefully he’ll enjoy it for years to come.

Thanks for checking it out.
