A pair of bottle stoppers I made last night. The one on the left is what came from the wart on the branch. I put the garbage cans a little close to the mesquite tree and the garbage truck knocked off the branch during pickup. The original plan/ shape was different but there was a hollow spot that altered that plan. The one on the right is a piece of end grain mesquite. Both are finished with clear shellac and polish.
These are really the first true projects that have come from the lathe. Next stop, bigger and better. Your comments are welcomed.

Nice designs and turnings. I like the “before” pic of the left one. Nice to see the before and after.
