Fishing game for my daughter's birthday

I think I made it somehow…

Here is a fishing game, with a rod and hook with magnet. Yes, this is also a stolen idea from grimejr who said “I stole this idea from my buddy rooster”! Ah!

Anyway, this was a fun project from designing the sea creatures to testing how the magnet hook works,, but it was also really hard to cut the curved line because I don’t have a Scroll Saw.
I thought about making a reel with a rod, but I thought much simpler system would be better for not screwing up the line while playing.

But can you believe it is just finished about 10 minutes before “Nothing New Except the Glue Challenge” entry ends!

My daughter is turing to 4 years old in 3 days, and we all will have fun playing with this game with her, I hope!

Thanks for watching!

Ray
Thanks! but unfortunately, as I told you, it’s not my original idea…

A very nice game Junji for your daughter. She will enjoy this at this age. She will also know the names of different fishes.
For cutting the curves you could have tried fret saw. Although it requires a little practice it is a good experience for those who like to use hand tools. (See my project “Pen and Pencil Stand”.)

sharad,

Thanks for your information. Yes, I do have “tried fret saw” but this time, I needed to finish it a bit faster, so I used Jig saw. I saw your project, and it’s just amazing! Yes, it is really a good idea to practice to use tried fret saw right.

Very fun thing for your daughter Junji. I made one of these many years ago for my son, but it wasn’t nearly as nice as yours. I’m sure she will love it.

Skarp,
Another comment with Japanese! Wow, you guys are so smart. Arigato!

Daniel,
Thank you

Mike,
Ah, you might be the very original idea man! Hey, you should show us all of those long before made toys, because they can inspire us in many ways.

I like the game. My daughter just turned 1 and I think something like this will be a good way to introduce her to the real sport of fishing.

Mind if i borrow some ideas from this?
