Recently my mother in law passed. The night before she passed, she gave my wife her Rosary that she had since she was a young girl as well as her Modona that was passed on from her mother. I made this special walnut shelf. It has a simple drawer to hold the case for the Rosary as well as her mothers wedding ring. I was inspired by some woodworking at our church for the scroll work on the shelf. I simply finished the piece with 2 coats of spayed lacquer finish. I hope you like it! I think my Mother in law would be happy to see her most precious items on display. You will be missed Sally! RIP

FYI. For those of you that caught it, I noticed the cap on my screw holding up the shelf has fallen off! Lol
Should have caught that before I took the pictures !!

This is a beautiful piece and a wonderful tribute. You have a creative and artistic mind with woodworking skills to match.

Oh my God, Steve!!! First of all, my sympathies for your loss but due to your fine craftsmanship a part of her will always be with you. What a beautiful monument to your mother in law’s memory. Is there anything that you can’t do???? Your scroll work is magnificent!!!!!

Very nice shelf – great job making something to highlight the significance of this gift. Sally will be rewarded for her faithfulness. Mary is the most powerful intercessor.
