I seem to be using a lot of Red Gum and Huon lately. This is a Jewelry box in highly figured RG and Birdseye Huon inlayed in the top. The Huon is bookmatched. The finish is Chinawood Oil sanded through to 4000 grit and finished with wax.

Regards,

Rob

That’s a very nice piece, Rob. The contrast in wood is particularly pleasing.

That is one nice box. I’ve always felt that a box sides should be no more that 1/2” – but seeing several here on LJ has changed my mind. I really like the look of your box.

Great box and the grain in the Red Gum is beautiful. A nice combination in the lid.

Sweet! The Huon is Don’s favorite wood. Very nice work from start to finish.

Nice box! I love the ‘meatiness’ of it!
May I ask how you constructed the inside dividers?
