Project by Roman - THE BOOTMAN posted 05-02-2017 01:06 AM 970 views 0 times favorited 9 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I was given some chunks of cherry wood. Out came the glue and a suitable sized boot blank was the result.
The blank was large enough to carve a high-top work boot. When the boot was carved I didn’t like the prominent glue marks of the laminations so out came my acrylics that I had been using in my songbird and decoy carving years. I also had sketched an idea for a boot which showed the foot bone structure.
By now you Ljers must think that I should be committed or in serious need of a head doctor. But have no fear. I persevered, went wild with the colour and the x-ray came out quite clear.
The Bootman!

Very well carved.

No head doctor, foot doctor is what’s needed according to those bones! Make another and I’ll wear them. Size 10 1/2 wide.

Roman, that is a wild boot. It’s a real eye catcher and I like it.
