This is an End Table made from Monkey Pod from HI. This was one continuous slab of Monkey Pod when I brought it home. I sectioned it and made the table and pedestal from the one slab. The pedestal reminds me of a sharks fin. The sharks fin is mortised in to a piece of Elm that I had in the shop. The table piece had a small crack in it so I filled it in with black sand and epoxy. Monkey Pod never fails to have some crazy figuring, fungus and wild grain patterns. I beveled the front edge down a bit and exposed some red hidden in the wood. All in all this is one of my favorite pieces. Thanks for checking out the Monkey Pod End Table
