This is my newest carving that I just finished up over the weekend. It’s done in pine, and I guess it can be considered piece #2 in the set, to go along with my last carving. I finished it on the same way as the last…black ultra penetrating wood stain (several coats) on the background, one coat of sanding sealer, and finished with several coats of a clear satin finish. I like the look of the natural color of the pine in contrast with the black. I’m hoping to make one more in a similar way to complete what I had in mind….making a set of 3.

All comments and critiques are welcome…..and thank you for looking!

You truly have a gift for carving. Another great piece. Can’t wait to see the finale to the set.

Thank you for the kind comments guys! DTWoodknot- the overall size is approx 5 1/2” x 5 1/2”, so it’s relatively small. The 1st in the set is about the same width, only slightly taller by about an inch.

BOBCAM- Too funny!

When trying to come up with a name I was pondering what emotions are so powerful that they can bring you to your knees…..especially when you’re at your most vulnerable state (sans clothing, lol!). Love, or losing your love is definately one of those so I decided to go with heartbreak. I was also thinking “shame”, but didn’t like the way that sounds/looks in French. (I’m keeping the titles in French to keep with my set).

Nice carving again! You managed to make the hair look believable, and that isn’t easy. This will be a great series. Nice job.
