This Meditation Bench / Stool helps in sitting still for long periods while keeping the spine as straight as possible. They are really comfortable and great to use for those that cannot sit on the ground for too long. A simple project made from Pine boards and a couple of hinges :)

Good job! I cannot tell from the photo … does the stool sit at an angle or is it parallel to the floor?

Hi Ron, the stool sits at an angle, so there is little pressure behind the legs. I’ve made many of these over the years and the dimensions are the most comfortable or best suited to most people.

Thanks! Yes, I’ve made a few of these myself for a prayer circle at church. I personally prefer the full blow prie dieu … I guess I’m just old school … LOL! Thanks again!

These little stools are not as elaborate as your prie dieu :) Fantastic work. The other option we have are cloth Zafu. I am considering the design of a small round wooden stool similar to a cushion, but I have so many projects on the go it will need to be at the bottom of the long list :D

I’ll show these to my girls, they participate in Yoga.

Love the toys, might make some.

Thanks! I know how to-do lists can be … I’m sure my to-do list will out live me!

This is a very nice and practical bench.

Ron, an ‘out live me to do list’ is perfect :) Something to do right up to the end and beyond :D That’s the way to live :)

John, they are also great as a reading platform while sitting on the floor. It never occurred to me to post dimensions with my projects, but after I drew up the plans for the toy box the idea to add dimensions for functional projects will be useful to others :)
