English Walnut Coffee Table

This is a small cut from a larger slab that I purchased in San Ramon. The legs are made from the same slab. This table is 42×24 and about 19 inches tall. The table top is 1 1/2” thick. I added some extra joinery on the legs to table joint. This is a stout table. The typical build of this type- router plane, work through the sanding progression, applied Linseed Oil then several coats of Poly U. The English Walnut slab had some major cracking but I’m confident that the Purple Heart bow ties will keep it from moving. And the slab appears dry. As usual, I left some “Makers Mark” on the legs – a few bandsaw marks from the first slabbing operation. Lets everyone know it was hand made. (No production runs here.)
Thank for checking out the English Walnut coffee table.

Thx. The bowties are all freehand. The radius is the shape of my belt sanders top wheel.
