Just a quick post of a couple of bandsaw boxes my daughter and I built today. We where talking over breakfast about what to get her mom for Mothers day and decided to head out to the shop and see what we can come up with.
We decided to give a couple of those heart bandsaw boxes a try. The larger of the three boxes is my daughters. She designed hers around a knot she seen in a 4×4 cedar plank. I think it turned out fantastic! On top of that I got the chance to spend a day with my teenage daughter… How often does that happen?...... Like Never! (sorry I’m trying to be hip here…lol)

Seriously, it sounds like a wonderful day for both of you. I guarantee your daughter will always look back fondly on the time she spends with you in your shop. Mama is going to be pretty pleased with those boxes, too! They look terrific.

Good deal!!!! Normally, a day with a teenage girl would sound like he(( on earth, but this situation would be an exception. Let her know how lucky she is that she doesn’t live in Indonesia… She’d be making these 14 hours a day (and not for fun) and making twelve cents an hour so we could buy them at Wal-Mart for $2.99. Instead, she got to make one that is priceless and had fun doing it.

Father daughter time is awesome. My daughter is only 7 weeks old, but I enjoy the times that my wife goes out and leaves me alone with her.
Sounds like it was an amazing bonding experience!

What more could a mother ask than something made from the heart from the 2 she loves. I cherish the times spent with my daughter growing up and in the shop. To coin a phrase ITS HIP TO BE SQUARE.
