Hello all – newbie here. To the board, and relatively new to woodworking. Weekend warrior type (although never enough time), with less than 9 mos experience. Just finished this chess board and am thinking of selling it. Any thoughts on a value? the top is 4/4 that is routed on the edges to just fit over the outside frame, which consists of mdf in a purple heart and hickory frame.

thanks for your consideration, and critiques..

Mark

Nice looking board! Did you glue the board to the frame or the MDF? What finish did you use? Welcome to LJ.

Beautiful miters on the frame. How is the top attached to the base?

I used epoxy glue to glue the top to the mdf, but only in the center so the wood can move along the lateral grain if it need too. At least that’s the idea
