Had some poplar lying around and thought I would make my first chair. Turned out pretty well, it didn’t break when I sat in it so that’s a plus.

I like the floating seat. I do wonder how long it would stand up to a couple of teenagers.

nice job i like your design,id like the back rest to have a little more of a maloof style curvature though but overall its got a great look,i might steal a few elements from it.thanks for sharing.

Chairs require a lot of thought. Nice job on this one. More thought to photographing it outside the shop. I did the same in the shop picture. Not very much recognition. Have you given it your son as a test. LOL!

Like the design. I’m thinking the back rest is probably mounted that way for structural support but did you ever consider “floating” the back rest like the seat design wise.

I have yet to make a chair yet but it is something I want too do. I like your proportions too.
