New landing, stairs and clamp storage

I replaced my very old and rickety landing and stairs going into my garage/wood shop. After the initial build, I noticed all the potential for storage and got to work. All my clamps are now in one place and easy to access. I plan to add another board under the first one when I buy more long clamps and I’ll relocate the smaller clamps to the lower board.

My drill press is on the side of the landing without stairs so I added a shelf for large forstner bits and forstner bit set. They take up too much space in a drawer. Another shelf has various spray cans and bottles.

I have plans for another shelf and possibly drawers in 2 or 3 of the stairs.

I’m a big fan of putting storage/organization options everywhere. Any plans for under the stairs? I can see a storage cabinet on casters or maybe a scrap bin. Then again, maybe you don’t have the problem of hoarding scraps…

MikeUT-Oh, I hoard scraps. Not under the landing, though. I have some bulky items under there like car ramps, a pressure washer and air compressor, plus a few other things.

You did a nice job on the steps and you might as well work in a clamp rack or two on the handrails. You also gain some room under the stairs I suppose. Nice work.

Ha! Same place I just rebuilt and store my long clamps too. I was just looking today to see what I could do with the space underneath. Nice work and good thinking!

Have your say...
