Project Information
These are some pictures of 3 different projects that i did on my free time, not really knowing if i could do it or not, you know, the way a pro would..
So i started with drawings, i could at least do that. I blended curves and added leaves as i went.
Most people wouldn't believe me if i told them i did these with a small palm chisel and a swiss army knife. And a pencil…
I got used to carving when i was young, so i was aware of the proper ways to use a chisel, a couple of tiny cuts here and there occurred from missing or having the wood grain break while carving.
I wanted to get more into this but nobody had any old Victorian furniture, or Capitals, brackets, things of that nature to carve or renovate or replace. No work in it. At least around here.
So it remains a hobby, i don't do it that much anymore unfortunately.
The moon i made from a piece of 2×10 Fir structural lumber, the Acanthus study was of 2 styles made from 2 pieces of 3/4×6 trim wood glued together, Pine.
The rosette took a long time as it was carved into Figured rock Maple.
