This was a leap into the unknown, with no measurements or references to proper angles etc. I had to free form build this thing with a general idea of what it should look like, and hope it worked.

I had scraps of Walnut left over from various tables i was making and had this idea that i wanted to make a Danish style sofa, but with a more ergonomic variation with more style.

The backrest is contoured, i used the angle from one of our chairs in the living room, and used the seat back angle, and height instead for a reference.

So i built the general frame first. Cutting each individual slat for the backrest was very time consuming, and there were 4 or 5 that couldn’t be used in the end, each one was cut on the bandsaw using the same template. I had never made anything of this type before so it was fun to put it together and see the style come to life.

One of the coolest items of furniture i made yet, and was when i first started out.
