This bible box is Cedar with Maple Accent, a 3D Intrasia Maple and Cedar layered Cross and White Dove on the lid. The inside bottom is lined with Hunter Green felt to protect the bible and also contains a pencil tray in the bottom end. The inside of the walls and lid are left unfinished to retain that Cedar fragrance.

Hardware consists of a gold piano hinge that opens to 95 degrees and a magnetic catch on the lid.

The finish is multiple coats of shellac to bring out the natural wood grain and color.

All dimensions are approximate:
Outside Dimensions: 11 1/2”L x 8”W x 4 3/4”T (Includes cross)
Inside Dimensions: 10 1/2”L x 7 1/2”W x 2 3/4”T (Does not include 1 1/4” W pencil tray)

Another beautiful box Bob, I’m currently working on a box for a repeat customer, I had made two christening boxes for her and her sons several years ago, she now has another son she’s wanting a christening box for and I’ll be posting it here soon once it’s complete.

Desert_Woodworker, Thanks I appreciate the compliment.

Jim, Thank you for the compliment.

Randy, I always appreciate comments from you. I had wondered what you were building now. Christening boxes sound like a winner. This bible box was a strange and good one for me. I took it to a one day show in a high end show. The doors opened at 10:00 AM and the first two ladies came straight to my booth and one of them pointed at this box and said I want it. Out came the money and she was on her way. Never happened like that before. I have 2 more cedar ones with different designs that will be ready to apply the finish today. I said that I was not going to do more than six shows this year as I have moved to only doing high dollar shows, but it seems that I have 10 booked and paid for as of right now. I am building inventory like mad as they start again in 2 weeks.

This is a wonderful Bible box and it’s nicely done. The wood is beautiful and the at work and craftsmanship are very attractive.

Very nice scrollsaw work. Cedar itself looks outstanding.
