This is a bowl I saw in a dream. I actually pictured it made of silver, with incense in the holes around the edge, and a small fire in the middle to light the incense. I made it from some Alder that I hade laying around. Chip carved the rim and then used dyes in the center to simulate the fire.

Very nicely done. Great design and turn. I like your “interpretation” of your dream.
Keep it up.

I like your dreams. The red dye really sets this off, and the carving is great. Nice!

Well, I want to turn a tongue drum. Shape it on the lathe and tune it like a steel drum. Still working on the particulars for that, but I’m almost there. Think of it, a wooden steel drum. I can almost imagine the tone in my head. Add some synthetic stings internally and it might almost come away with a bit of a didgeridoo moan while you play it.
