Last year I did a Jimmy Clews class at woodcraft here in Boise. He showed us how to make the lids on these boxes so tight that they “pop” when you take them off. Cool Idea, but if you have a powder in it, you would be wearing the powder whenever you open the box. I like to see peoples faces when they discover that it IS a box and it opens. If you make the cut thin enough you can’t even see the seam. Here are a few examples. A maple box, a russian olive box and a Maple Burl box. I won a blue ribbon with the Maple Burl box at the Idaho Artistry in Wood Show last Febuary. The mushroom box is really a hit too, when people find out that the top comes off of it. It is about 5 inches tall and 4 inches across, so it makes a nice coffee table item.

Nice shapes and designs. You learned well from the class. Great work.
Keep it up.
