This box is made from Maple with an Intarsia Rosebud with leaves decorating the top. Cherry splines reinforce as well as decorate the corners. The inside contains a removable tray and a 7 inch oval mirror. The inside of the tray is lined with high quality red micro fiber while the bottom is lined with a cushioned red felt material. Hardware for the box is a gold latching clasp and quadrant 95 degree stop hinges.

The finish is multiple coats of lacquer bringing out the best in the natural wood grain and color.

All dimensions are approximate:
Outside of box: 10”W x 8”D x 5 3/8”H
Inside of box: 8 1/4”W x 6 1/4”D x 3 1/8”H
Outside of tray: 4 1/4”W x 6 1/4”D x 1 3/16”H
Inside of tray: 3 1/2”W x 5 11/16”D x 7/8”H

Thanks for looking.

-- Bob

Man that’s a beautiful box—I love how that intarsia stands out from the maple!

Waho6o9, Thanks for the nice compliment. While I built the box, my wife does the intarsia. We work these on a joint operation.

Dave, We appreciate your feedback.

Dean, We appreciate the nice compliment. We have done a variety of these and they have been well received.

You and your wife make a good team. What different woods are used to make up the roses and the leaves? Are any dyes or stains applied to deepen the color?

I love the style. Great work!

Raymond, First off let me say thanks for the compliment. The rose in entirely padauk and the leaves are poplar with a green dye to accent the color. Everything else is natural wood with only lacquer applied.

Charles, Your comments are always appreciated.

Wow! That’s beautiful work. Did you use color specific woods for the roses and leaves or did you stain/paint them?

BobDelph2, Thanks for the compliment. The rose is Padauk and only has lacquer applied. The leaves are Poplar and they have been stained green and then lacquered.
