Awhile back in February, I was involved in the building of bar at a local golf and country club. The request for the bar top was laminated maple top.. We had it professionally built and delivered to the work site as it measured over 20 feet long. There was some cutting involved to get the bar fitted and off course I got the left over pieces. The width of the top was 24 inches so I had some lovely cut-offs.
The pieces landed in my workshop and I was going to get a boot out of the pieces.Laminating the bar laminate a boot block and blank was in the making. however. the maple wood had limited contrast so I interspersed the maple wood with some mahogany strips. The contrast was assured but was boring when the boot was carved.
I came across some Egyptology about the Egyptian king. The light bulb went on and hieroglyphics according to scribe turned carver left a message for all you Ljers to translate. It is a fascinating story preserved on Tut’s boot!

It is my pleasure to introduce you to the BOOT of TUTANKHAMUN!!!!

Nice boot Roman! But I’m sure he won’t be needing it anymore!
