This desk and chair are made mostly of recycled maple from an old basketball court. Drawer front is walnut. I made the handle myself from maple. It’s intended for a seven year old. I made box joints for the drawer, then dadoed the sides to slide on maple runners attached inside the desk. I also made some dividers up so the drawer will stay neat. It took a lot of glue ups since the pieces are only 1 1/2” wide after I got the tonque and groove cut off. I finished everything except the walnut with water based poly. The walnut was laquered as I wasn’t sure if the water based would look ok on a dark wood.

looks good. I like the contrasting woods. Great way to recycle some wood.

recycling is always great and it is a very fine desk you have made
I like the wide handle and how you had divided the drawer is qeit clever too
