Three Speckles Hens is a bi-annual arts and crafts event in Paso Robles, CA that we go to twice a year.
This one was a quick and dirty project for a family friend who loved the one I made for my mom and wanted one for herself and one as a Christmas present for her mother-in-law.
I used reclaimed cedar from an old built-in my neighbor tore out and got to test my band saw skills. Turns out I need some work in that area but this was a fun one. I used half laps to connect the boards in the middle and then used some Elmer’s glue under the paint to create the cracking, distressed look. $60 for the two and it only cost me the price of the metal roses. Not bad.
-- It's a BEAUTIFUL day to go cut some wood & build something!
