This box is made from solid American Cherry with Maple and Walnut splines reinforcing the corners. The inside contains a removable tray and a removable sectioned divider. The tray is made from Cherry and Walnut. The divider is made from Walnut. The bottom of the box and the inside of the lid are flocked in Royal Blue.

The finish is hand rubbed boiled linseed oil and bees wax which brings out the best in the natural wood grain and color.

Outside dimensions: 11 1/2”W x 7 1/2”D x 4 3/4”H.

Burlybob, glad you like it. I am a duck hunter as well. We have stated incorporating Intarsia into a lot of our boxes. This duck is one that I really enjoyed doing.

That is a lovely project and that duck is just plain outstanding. You really do have that intarsia stuff down to an art

Bud, Thanks for the compliment. I can’t take credit for the pattern as it is one I modified from Judy Gale Roberts. Hers was about 4 or 5 times larger than mine and I didn’t think a box that big was practical. However, I did like the duck well enough to put in the effort to reduce and make it. It’s a LOT harder to make one from smaller parts, but the satisfaction is worth it.
