Here are my first examples, of what seems to be, the very popular Woodsmith Keepsake boxes. I made one for my wife and daughter. I am very happy with them, although pretty disappointed that the Wenge is so dark you cant see the 1/8 inch finger joints. I finished them with Natural Danish Oil, so I’m surprised they got so much darker, but live and learn. They were fun to make, so I will probably make some more for gifts and use lighter species, or maybe just reverse the Wenge and Maple.

very nice boxes. I like the wenge and maple combination and find that it will come out lighter if you use a lacqquer finish instead of danish oil. here is one i finished with lacquer to get the lighter wenge to show
