Turned bowl

Glued up a solid block to turn down. I obviously wasted a lot of time on the first few rows because I ended up turning them away. Originally it was going to have a narrow opening on top and be more round, but it kept begging to be more of a vase as I turned it. :) Last pic shows the block almost ready to turn (needs 2 more pieces glued on).

Very nice.
Sometimes the wood does what it does! Still a very pretty bowl/vase/jar.

That’s an interesting segmented glue up, I like it, nice result indeed

I like it Dreggy. You have inspired me to experiment with glue-ups. I think I have been too conservative with my projects lately. George

Fantastic, I tried something like this but used plywood, same colour throughout but interesting patterns.
I really like the colours in your glue-up, much more interesting than plywood.
Thanks for sharing this, Mate.

eye catching lamination’s, I think you needed the center ones to have something to glue the outer ones too. Very nice.

I looked at some of your other postings. They are all outstanding.
When I looked at this one I thought, calico cat or possibly kaleidoscope.

This is a wonderful bowl and the wood and craftsmanship are outstanding.
