This box is made from Sapele and accented with Maple and has contrasting Maple and Sapele splines to reinforce the corners. The inside contains two removable trays and a sectioned divider fills the bottom. Hinge is a 95 degree stop piano type hinge.

The finish is hand rubbed boiled linseed oil, several layers of semi-gloss lacquer and a final polish of bees wax to bring out the best in the natural wood grain and color.

The bottom of the box and the bottom of each tray is lined with a heavy duty micro-suede type fabric.

All dimensions are approximate:
Outside 13 1/2”W x 9 1/2”D x 6 3/4”H.
Inside 12 1/2”W x 8 1/2”D x 5 1/2”H.
Top Tray 8”W x 6 1/8”D x 1 1/4”H. (Inside dimensions)
Mid Tray 7 5/8”W x 6 1/8”D x 1 1/4”H. (Inside dimensions)
24 Bottom Dividers 1 3/4”W x 1 3/4”D x 1”H. (Inside dimensions)

Great box, I love to work with sapele such consistent grain. I really like how the splines are alternated (light on dark and dark on light). Strong work!

Thanks to everyone for the compliments. This is a box that I plan to build again, starting in the next few days. I finished this box uncomissioned and less than 24 hours later it was headed home with a very good friend as a surprise for his wife. I didn’t get to enjoy this one long enough.
