This was one of those great projects where my wife knew exactly what she wanted.
The instruction were:
A shallow box that hangs on the wall with a calendar hanging on one side, a bulletin board on the other and when it’s closed, the front has nice material upholstered over it (upholstery will be handled, you just build it).
There’s nothing much special about it, it’s just pine and has a slightly carved out finger hole on the side where the catch was installed. Hard to see, but under the calendar is a routed out groove for a pen or two to sit.
The upholstery was done by my lovely wife, from left over material that she had from making curtains.
It went over well enough that I made a second one for our daughter, which she was free to paint and decorate to her liking. It’s purple….but looks more or less the same otherwise. :-)
