Summer Entertainment:
Started refinishing my deck, and responded to an urge to build a shelf to mount next to the hot tub that resides on our deck. Is refinishing your deck a woodworking project?... well I wasn’t taking any chances so i threw together the pictured shelf.

Tie it to an unpleasant outside task to justify the time and go for it.

Well, it involves wood and working with it so, I guess, yes, it is a project indeed. ;o)

Nice refinishing, although still a long way to go it seems. Good luck!

I love the shelves, it look to me that they have no back but the refinished part of the fence. Am I right?

Looks like a woodworking project to me. It has the key elements. Wood, Stain, and Work.

Good project with a purpose. I’m sure it will get a lot of use.

Good observation jojo ,there is no back,I thought the fence would serve the purpose. ( and besides, it gave me an opportunity to display a little of my lazy side).
There was definitely a long way to go at that point. Rain the day after I started the project and for about a week after made it drag out to long, but finely…its dome. The only fun part was the shelf.

Very peaceful on your patio it appears. I like that shelf.

Glad you are over with it!

You know, the only back I could see fitting there is a shipplapped rustic one and to me this is as close as it gets and it really adds a lot of character to the selves. Good job.
