Here is the Spa Bench I built to go with the Shoji doors I posted yesterday. It is 2 3/4 thick and weighs 300 pounds.
I didn’t think I could accurately cut joinery that was almost 3 inches thick so I so I design the joinery into the assembly and ended up with all 90 degree cuts.!!

I like it a lot. Joinery choice really fits with the thick timber.

love the asian style of this bench,makes me feel relaxed just looking at it.ive looked at some of you and your kids work and your family is just amazing wood workers.added you to buddy list,i dont want to miss what you and the kids come up with next.fantastic work.
