My son told me this box looks like something in a star wars movie. Hence, the name. Its cherry, wenge, lacewood, aluminum, black palm, and polyester resin. It is actually 4 boxes machined out of solid cherry with
a bowl bit and a jig I designed and built that can machine out 4 blanks at one time. The medallion in the top is aluminum tubing, black dyed resin and end grain black palm sanded on a face plate from 60 to 2000 grit sand paper. It took me about 16 months to figure out how to make these medallions to my satisfaction.

Very nicely done. !!!
I always enjoy looking at new designs for that age-old container “the box.”
You came up with a fine mix of wood species and other materials … so interesting.

SY, I like the sleek, modern look of this design. It is done elegantly. Keep boxing and keep posting.
