Built in bookcases

These are built-in bookcases that I designed and made for my wife’s sitting room. They are made from birch plywood and poplar. I’ll be finishing up the shelves soon. They’d are also birch ply and polar. They have reinforcing edged on the front and back as I wanted them not to sag on the 34+” wide shelves. I may or light in the top at a later time. I have added pictures of the finished bookcases. The last picture is a thermostat controlled fan that I put in the cabinet to keep the electronics from over heating. I also have a infrared remote sensing in the electronics in the case. I don’t want to have the doors open to use the remote. The best thing is that my wife is very happy with them.

Glass shelves & lighting?

No, they will be plywood due to the span. I’m a little leary of glass supporting a lot of weight. The light would just be for things being displayed on the top shelf.
