This is a lap desk that I’ve just finished. The marquetry is nice but the Japanese paper interior is to cool for words!

The body of the bird is made of some wood that has been dyed red, likely maple. I got it at Lee Valley.

Very nice Box. I love the marquetry. I am just gettiing started in marquetry and hope to be able to turn out as nice a projcet as this. What method did you use?
