My son-in-law needed something to dress-up the fireplace in one of his rentals. As you can see from the left side, I was limited on space. He also didn’t want to spend to much for materials either. MDF was “pushing” his budget.

We came up with this simple design and I fabricated it in my shop and broke it down into 4 parts for transportation .

Good thing he took great dimensions because renters were right behind me when I completed the installation.

Thanks! I’m kinda proud of it even though it is out of MDF. Boy that stuff creates a lot of dust!!!

I know what you mean. It’s definitely not something I choose to use very often.

Really nice looking mantle!
I built mine out of MDF too because I painted it white, just like yours.

Thanks. MDF is OK to work w/ outside of all the dust. Kinda nice to “rip” cut almost everything.
