My son is a Masters of Fine Arts candidate at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. One of his pieces includes an old rain barrel. This weekend he asked for help, building a stand to hold the barrel. We had to keep it low so that the overall height did not go above 36”. If it did he would have the apply for a building permit with the city of Boston.

This is made out of cedar (not my favorite wood to dovetail).

Half lap joint at 30 degrees and dovetails on the stretchers.

Agree … cedar is difficult to dovetail because it is so soft, but looks like your joints turned out just fine. Good job. That’s funny about the building permit … I guess 35-15/16 would be okay, right? LOL! Love the braided rugs!
