A short while ago I was searching amazon for a guitar stand. My guitars are mounted on the wall but when I play I like to put it down once and awhile. I found some metal and wire ones that weren’t too expensive and a few metal ones that were pretty nice but a bit more. Then I came across one made of wood. It was really nice but instead of $24.95 it was $149! Well, a couple of hours and a few pieces of scrap wood later and I duplicated it.
It’s made of hard maple with a neck ‘hook’ like I have on the wall to hold the guitar by the neck. I whittled (no pun intended) $149 down to about ten bucks. I’ll poly it next time I get the spray gun out for another item I’ve made.
In the pictures it’s holding my largest guitar, my Guild 12 string. It also easily fits my Ovation and Martin.
