2nd attempt at Christmas Box from A.J. Hamlers book titled Box Builders Handbook, this is my take on the box. I like the design has some interesting angles. Made from walnut, African mahogany and, sapele divider. First attempt at notched finger lift and magnets to secure lid.

Looks good and sturdy … I think that 4 magnets is a bit over kill, next time try 2 magnets and 2 washers or clipped off nails or if you have a bit of tin around, and an old paper punch … Well you get the idea.
Keep up the good work, and lets see some more.

Phil, this is a nice design the angled sides and lift are interesting, but do lead to thicker sides. I like the look of the top. the inset and smoothed joinery are well done and seamless. Nice work there. Keep boxing and keep posting.
