My first attempt at completing ARGYLE style cutting boards. The wood is beech/walnut in one and cherry, walnut and paduk in the other. Quite challenging to do, but fun to complete. Most people are pretty impressed with the look.

the beech is my favorite but both are absolutely stunning. Pretty sure I’ll copy them – Thanks for sharing

“pretty impressed with the look ?” that is a gross understatement

I’ve made these before and you’re right, they always get amazing reactions. I love the extra detail you added to the first one by splitting the square with an accent line. Nice job. A+ man.

For those interested, Instructables has a nice piece on how to make these. I made my squares 2” instead of the 1.5 she did. I also added an accent line to the horizontal pieces on the side.

Goes to prove, just because you are following someone else’s design, doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of room to personalize and enhance with your vision or version of it.
