This is a Murphy bed that was completed in April 2010. It is my Hudson Bay style with an added sofa. The sofa cushions are removed and the bed folds in between the arms. The customer sent me the fabric, I built the frame and I had the upholstery completed in Mississippi by “Style and Comfort. Mfg.”
To allow for the spacing of the sofa arms I built inset bookcases. These are turned toward the inside and are 8” wide. This allow for the drawers to function on the other bookcases while having the sofa. There is a total of 7 bookcase on this group.
The finish is a cappuccino finish achieved with a dye coat, stain, coat, and two clear coats of pre-catalyzed lacquer.
The glass in the upper doors is an etched style called rain.
