The cool thing about this project was the results I got from book matching. The box is made from Sapele using a small brass rod as a hinge. What I see in the grain is a couple of cookie monsters facing each other. The finish is an oil and wax mix. NOTE: the backside of the lid is from another box like this one but I gave this one as a gift and forgot to get a photo.

I see why you put the actual book match on the inside. That top is really dramatic, and the finish enhances it nicely.
