A little “shelf-art” wooden box. Measures approx. 11” wide x 8” high x 5” deep. Made from Quilted Maple and Purple-heart. A Purple-heart ball was turn on my wood lathe and acts as the handle for a simple lift off lid. It was the first time I had ever turned a sphere … after several frustrating attempts it became fun. The piece was finished with shellac with lacquer as a final coat.

Impressive, I’ve never seen this design before and your choice of wood is beautiful.

Impressive for sure. It looks like it belongs in a gallery.

Gorgeous box. The way you did the lid fit is very impressive.

Oh my gosh, that is outstanding not only in lumber selection but design as well.
Why is that not a Top 3 selection ??
