Project Information

Last Spring my better half requested some flower pots for the driveway. I wanted to make sure they would hold up to the seasonal weather swings here in Jersey and decided to make them from Redwood. I had plenty laying around my shop and all I needed was the measurements for the pots.

I framed the hole pot with essentially 2"x2" boards and then sheated the frame with 1/2" re-sawn redwood. From there i trimmed it all out and put a cap on it. So far they have held up great and look really good in the driveway. It is a nice project and it wasn't hard to put together.

Very nice. Those things would walk away in my neighborhood. I love working with redwood. What stain did use?

Haha, I told her if they walk away here I will chase them all over the place. No stain at all, just finished with some Hellsmans outdoor and let them. They are staring to gray now, but nothing a little sanding can't fix.
